Congratulations to Hanghang Wang, MD, PhD. who successfully defended her PhD thesis Improving Mass Spectrometry-Based Metabolite Identification and Quantification and Application to Cardiovascular Disease on March 31! Dr. Wang is a graduate of the Duke Program in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics.
Under the direction of DMPI faculty member Dr. Svati Shah, Hanghang has been studying methods to improve identification of metabolites in metabolomic profiling and integrated omics approaches to study cardiometabolic disease mechanisms.
Prior to receiving her PhD, Dr. Wang received her Medical Degree from Dartmouth University and was a general surgery resident at Duke Medical Center. With the completion of her PhD, she returns to continue her Duke surgical residency.
