Mark Herman is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism, and Nutrition and an Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Cancer Biology at Duke University Medical Center. He is also a faculty member of the Duke Molecular Physiology Institute. He studies mechanisms by which metabolic tissues sense nutrients to regulate transcriptional programs that contribute to diabetes and cardiovascular disease. He is also a practicing endocrinologist.
