We are pleased to announce that Dr. Scott Crown has been selected by the Duke Department of Medicine Research Day Committee as one of two recipients of this year’s Research Staff Excellence Award.
This award recognizes sustained excellence in implementing clinical and laboratory research by frontline research staff in the Department of Medicine. Honorees are instrumental in advancing research through data collection, laboratory experimentation, protocol implementation, participant recruitment, team management, and technical troubleshooting.
Dr. Crown was nominated by colleagues who praised his exceptional scientific expertise, collaborative spirit, and leadership in advancing metabolic research at Duke. He played an instrumental role in developing the Metabolic Flux Core at the Duke Molecular Physiology Institute—establishing state-of-the-art technologies, mentoring students and postdoctoral fellows, and advising research teams across the university.
