Dr. Svati Shah and Dr. Rana Gupta named as Distinguished Professors in the Duke School of Medicine

We are very excited to announce that our DMPI colleagues Dr. Svati Shah and Dr. Rana Gupta have been named as Distinguished Professors in the Duke School of Medicine.  Dr. Shah will hold the Ursula Geller Distinguished Professorship of Research in Cardiovascular Diseases, awarded for her outstanding work in applying multi-omics approaches for understanding risk factors and mechanisms underlying cardiovascular events.  Dr. Gupta will hold the W. David and Sarah W. Stedman Distinguished Professorship, awarded for his field-leading work on adipose tissue development and biology, and the contributions of adipose-derived factors in development of cardiometabolic diseases.  We are very proud of Svati and Rana—well done and richly deserved!!
