After 7 years of outstanding service, Dr. Dave D’Alessio, Chief of the Endocrinology Division and James B. Wyngaarden Distinguished Professor of Medicine, will step aside as Associate Director of DMPI, but will remain involved as a senior faculty member and close advisor in all things that we do. We are pleased to announce that Dr. Debbie Muoio will assume the role of DMPI Associate Director. Dr. Muoio is the George Barth Geller Distinguished Professor of Medicine, and a world-renowned leader in the fields of muscle function and mitochondrial biology. Also, Dr. Rana Gupta, Professor of Medicine, will step into the role of Leader of the Basic Sciences section at DMPI, replacing Dr. Muoio in that capacity. Dr. Gupta is a leader in the field of adipose biology and its role in development of cardiometabolic diseases.
