The MGC offers quality and quantity assessment of RNA and DNA for investigators looking for more precise measurements than the standard lab spectrophotometer.
Spectrophotometers’ measurements should not be relied upon for assays that require more stringent practices, such as high sensitivity genomics. The MGC houses the following instruments to meet our customers’ needs:
Thermofisher Qubit 3.0
Qubit® 3.0 Fluorometer: benchtop fluorometer for quantitation of DNA and RNA, using the highly sensitive and accurate fluorescence-based Qubit ® quantitation assays.
- Fluorescent dyes to specifically bind targets of interest (RNA/DNA) & emits signal for sample quantitation
- Requires 3uL input
- Consumables provided by MGC and billed to customer in CoreResearch
Agilent 4200 TapeStation System
Agilent 4200 TapeStation System: high-throughput automated electrophoresis platform for nucleic acid sample quality control
- Measures size, concentration, and integrity of nuclei acids, producing reliable integrity standards for RNA (RINe) and genomic DNA (DIN)
- Uses less sample (~1-2uL) & time (~1-2mins/sample) than traditional gel electrophoresis
- Consumables provided by MGC and billed to customer in CoreResearch
