Email karen.abramson@duke.edu to request a cost estimate and/or consult meeting. Please include in your request: assay type, sample species, how many cells/nuclei you want to target (capture with the assay), input material (fresh cells, cryopreserved cells, or frozen tissue for nuclei), how many samples, how many batches, and if you want data analysis.

When you are ready to proceed with your project, submit a service request in Core Research @ Duke (coreresearch.duke.edu) with the DMPI-MGC Core.

If you are a new CoreResearch user, you must link personnel to a fund code.

Once you have submitted a service request, email us at DMPI-MGC@duke.edu to schedule a date and time to drop off your samples.

You must complete any required sample submission forms and email to DMPI-MGC@duke.edu before dropping off your samples so that we can prepare appropriately - forms available on bottom of page.

When you arrive at our facility, located in the Carmichael Building at 300 N. Duke St. Durham, NC 27701, pull up to the loading dock with the number 52 above the double door. Once at the doors, contact the MGC lab member assigned to your project and we will meet you at the doors.

In the case of 10x Genomics projects, once we have received the samples, we ask that you are available by phone for at least an hour after sample drop-off, in case there is an emergency with the samples such as low viability.

We will update you throughout the course of your project.

Once your service is complete, we will contact you regarding next steps (ex. sequencing, analysis...)
MGC Policies
Raw sequencing data is only retained for 3 months - please be sure to download your data.
Libraries, leftover tissue, and DNA are retained for 2 months, then will be disposed of, unless picked up by customer.
Project-specific kits are non-refundable once ordered.
There are many variables that affect 10x Genomics single-cell capture efficiency. Despite adhering to all best practices, we cannot guarantee we will capture what we target. Following sample preparation guidelines is critical to the success of your project.
